Si Vintners, Halcyon Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Flag of Australia

Si Vintners are based in the Margaret River region of Western Australia and made up of husband-wife team Sarah Morris (the S) and Iwo Jakimowicz (the I). They're all about natural farming, and aim to truly express the land upon which their vines grow, with minimal intervention in both the vineyard and winery. Fully biodynamic, Si Vintners produce properly awesome, authentic, natural Aussie wines. Planted in 1978, the Halcyon Block Cabernet exists on karri loam over white clay soil and is extremely low cropping. Basket pressed, fermented in concrete eggs and matured in a blend of new and old barrels for approximately 12 months. Notes of juicy blackberry, plum, oak and earth move to a structured, powerful and deep palate. It's an awesome expression of natural Cab, and with only 900 bottles produced, a rare one too.
